Stuffing the proverbial cat back in the bag

One of my holiday highlights so far:

Shopping in Fry’s and this woman walking past me with a little girl in her arms. The toddler (infant?) was crying and this wasn’t just a whimpering crying, it was a screaming crying. The mother was rocking the child and the dad leans over the girl and says “I’m gonna put you up for adoption.”

I had to run into the camera aisle to keep from laughing my ass off right next to them.

One of my holiday lowlights so far:

Being asked by the guy giftwrapping a few of my books at Borders if I had kids of my own. WTF? I had never been asked that before and was hoping not to for at least a few more years. I laughed and said no and then he laughed and said “Aw, God bless ya.” I still don’t know what that even means.
